On Saturday June 8th, Goodman ASB presents the Goodman Music Festival. This 1st year festival will take place from 11am - 8pm, with a music lineup featuring local and international Artists including Left Hand Smoke, Jennifer Lind and the Variety Pack, Lynval Golding (of The Specials) featuring Lushy and the Shy Boys. All proceeds generated shall benefit Goodman Middle School and be used to fund Student Body athletics, clubs, programs and future social events.

Goodman Music Fest is a rain or shine, open air concert that will take place on the fields of Goodman Middle School in Gig Harbor, WA. Festival goers may bring a blanket or folding chair for seating. A selection of vendors will be onsite for purchase of food and beverages (no outside food or beverage allowed). Re-entry will be allowed with proof of ticket purchase.

Jennifer Lind andthe Variety Pack
Jennifer Lind and the Variety Pack Band perform a variety of Pop Hits from yesterday and today, with a repertoire that spans many decades (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, current) and styles (Pop Rock, Swing, Country, Motown, Disco) of music. Jennifer Lind and the Variety Pack have toured internationally. Members of the ensemble have been performed on Grammy-Award winning recordings as well as motion picture soundtracks.
Perry Acker
Perry Acker is Award Winning Recording Artist hailing from Gig Harbor, WA. The band received national acclaim with their winning of the 2011 Gimme the Gig competition sponsored by Ford Motors. This success was followed the same year with the band's 2011 Album, Path to Freedom, which was produced by 7 time Grammy Award winning producer, Don Was.
The band's fan base has been known to compare Perry Acker to a "modern day Beatles group", citing the band's pop hooks and colorful range of musical dynamics. Perry Acker has performed alongside National Recording Artists including Neil Citron, Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, Free, Paul Rodgers Band), and Vicci Martinez (a now National Artist also hailing from the Pacific Northwest). The band references The Eagles, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac and the Beatles as influences in both the bands music as well as their high-energy performance style. Perry Acker Lead Vocalist Pete Johnson describes the band's sound as "Dave Matthews meets John Mayer with a little bit of Fleetwood Mac and Super Tramp. Put them all in a bucket and mix it around".
Lefthand Smoke
Northwest Favorites Lefthand Smoke, featuring front men (and brothers) Ben and Will Mish features a style best described as " a blend of neo-soul and rock that is steeped in tradition, yet entirely original and fresh". The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and James Brown have also been referenced as musical influences.
Notable highlights of the bands career include headlining Bumbershoot (Seattle's highly acclaimed annual music festival), opening for national touring Artists Maroon 5 and John Mayer and sharing the stage with members of Pearl Jam during a benefit show in Seattle, WA (Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and Mike McCready). Original recording by Lefthand Smoke have appeared on Network Television, including the show ER and the Discovery Channel. The band recently licensed another original recording, Shine On Everything, to air on Grey's Anatomy (Jan 17th, 2013 episode).
Lynval Golding of the Specials featuring Lushy
Lynval Golding is known as rhythm guitarist of The Specials, a British ska band that garnered 7 consecutive top 10 hits in the UK between 1979 and 1981. Number 1 hits included "Too Much Too Young" in 1980 and "Ghost Town" in 1981.
The show will feature local Seattle recording Artist, Lushy (Dionysus Records). Lushy's musical style is a pop blend of original samples, Bossa beats, vintage Latin Jazz, surf, new wave and other distinctive styles that renders an intercontinental style and sound.
The Shy Boys
Local band the Shy Boys feature multi-instrumentalist musicians performing a variety of acoustic covers of hits by original Artists the Eagles, Santana, the Doobie Brothers and other 70s and 80s era Favorites. The Shy Boys have been voted "Best Band" by South Sound Magazine for the last 3 years running, and took second place in King 5's 2011 "Best of Western Washington" competition.
Tickets for Goodman Music Fest may be purchased by Goodman Middle School Students and families at the Goodman Middle School ASB Window or online. Tickets are also available for purchase by the general public online at the price of $25. Admission for Children 7 years and younger is at no charge. All ticket proceeds will support Goodman Middle School athletics, clubs, social events and associated activities.
